Nick Clegg has made the sensational claims in a tell-all about life in the Coalition government.
David Cameron and George Osborne refused to build more council houses because it would “create Labour voters”, Nick Clegg has revealed.
In a tell-all interview on Coalition life, the former Deputy PM also accused cynical Osborne of shamelessly slashing benefits simply to boost Tory popularity.
I agree with Nick.....

All polititions are just sales people for themselves. Most have a short moment in the limelight if they're lucky. When they are there they need to achieve as much as they can.
Liberals have won the moral, ethical and social arguments.
Conservatives generally win the financial ones as they litterally have all the money. Apart from all the liberals who have money.

Only that's not what happened is it? It's an allowance of £1,000 per annum on savings income. Anything above that is taxed as normal.
And it's only £1,000 for basic rate tax payers, only £500 for higher rate taxpayers (less than 8% of the population). So for the vast majority of people who get a few quid in savings income, aren't taxed on it again.
Only came into effect this April, so has cost the government hardly anything so far.
